Sick Policy
At Heritage Baptist Church it is our goal to work with parents to build a foundation for children to begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is also our goal to protect and keep all of the HBC kids safe and healthy so in response to that we have created our sick kids policy.
The Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that a Child should not leave home when of the following symptoms exists:
- Fever
- Vomiting or Diarrhea
- Any symptoms of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, measles, mumps, chicken pox, or whooping cough.
- Common Cold - from onset through one week
- Sore Throat
- Croup
- Any unexplained rash
- Any skin infections - boils, ringworm or impetigo
- Pink eye or other eye infections
- Green or yellow discharge from the nose
- Any communicable diseases
- Lice
We ask that these guidelines be followed and that a child be free of fever for 24 hours before coming to church. Parents will be paged to pick up their child if any of the above symptoms appear during service times. HBC nursery and preschool workers are not allowed to give any medications to any child at HBC. |
