MISSIONS
But you shall receive power when the Holy Sprit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

Heritage Baptist Church is actively participates in mission opportunities in Dothan, Alabama and beyond. Our mission organizations help to educate preschoolers through adults about missionaries, people groups, and prayer needs.

Mission Friends
Mission Friends are preschoolers who meet at 6:15 on Wednesday nights. They get to hear stories of missionaries, get to see on the map where these missionaries are serving, and learn about the places where these missionaries serve. Sometimes they may even taste food from these places or play games that boys and girls from those areas play.

Children in Action
Boys and girls in grades 1-6 meet on Wednesday nights at 6:15. These children are not just studying about mission around the world, but are actively being a part of missions. During our sessions we study about missionaries and do many different types of activities related to the lives of these missionaries. Sometimes the boys and girls actually participate in a mission project such as host a World Crafts Party. Throughout the year the boys and girls are earning badges for their different activities. In May there will be a recognition service where each boy and girl will be presented the various badges that they have earned throughout the year.

Women on Mission
Joy Group. The Joy Group is a group of women who meet at 2:00pm on the second Tuesday of each month in the home of one of the members or at the church. They enjoy refreshments provided by one of the members and have a missions program. These ladies are also involved in mission projects through the year.

Adults on Mission
E-Group. For anyone interested in praying for missionaries and people groups around the world, then this groups is for you. It is open to men and women in our church who have a desire to uplift our missionaries in prayer. Each week the members receive an email with the prayer request. It may be for our North American missionaries or our International missionaries. Sometime it may be an urgent prayer request that will be sent when the need arises. If you are interested in “holding the ropes” for our missionaries, this it the group for you.
